Meet other local sushi lovers and enjoy delicious sushi in the company of others! A sushi meetup would be a good opportunity to cut costs with eating sushi by splitting the ticket between several people.
NEW factor, NO MEETUP FEES. Thanks to our sponsor, there are no Meetup Meeting Fees, our Meetup cost is covered by Edokko.
PLUS our sponsor, Edokko provides us 15% off on Sushi, when we hold our Sushi Meetups there (except when Meetups coincide with special event specials). Meetups are an excellent opportunity to meet people in the area and network, while saving some money thanks to our group discount. Edokko provided us with some photos of several of their sushi dishes, click on "Photos" and you'll see the album. Until I discovered sushi, I had no idea how beautiful food could be presented.
We plan to experiment with many fun and interesting Sushi experiences. We'll hold a "Sushi - Sake" meetup one month, where premium gourmet Sakes are paired with complimentary Sushi dishes, and a Sake expert will explain the making of Sake, where each Sake is made in Japan, and the zen dining experience of tasting the gourmet sakes before tasting the food, then after, for a very unique pallate adventure.
Our sponsor, Edokko has a beautiful party room with a large screen HD TV with DVD, so I was thinking one month we might show the legendary Japanese film maker, Akira Kurasawa's acclaimed "DREAM" film, while having Sushi.
Maybe one month will have a "Zen Dining Night," and show some clips from Japanese Zen scholar, Allan Watts, mesmerising Zen films.
The Japanese Cuisine Meetup had a "Shabu-Shabu" night at Edokko's last Monday, April 6, and we had a great time. Maybe our Sushi Meetup could have a "Shabu-Shabu" night one night. That was my first time having Shabu-Shabu and it was a blast. Wonderful group of people. Sorry I hogged all the rice soup at the end, I'll behave better next time ;-) You can see photos of our Shabu-Shabu Meetup by clicking Photos in the menu to the left.
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, and will announce the first meetup in a couple of weeks. I"m also the Tai Chi Meetup Organizer, and right now am swamped preparing for World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, where we hold a free Tai Chi teach-in on the South lawn of the beautiful Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, and then do a mass Tai Chi exhibition together between the giant shuttle cocks. We'll be part of a global wave of Tai Chi & Qigong exhibitions being held that same day worldwide in hundreds of cities.
This group doesn't have any additional upcoming Meetups scheduled.
Your organizer will refund you if:
